• American Academy of Pediatrics offers list of resources for children with special needs.
  

• American Academy of Pediatrics, National Center of Medical Home Initiatives for Children with Special Needs provides support to physicians, families, and other medical and non-medical providers who care for children with special needs so that they have access to a medical home.

Overview

The Maternal Child Health Bureau defines "Children with special health care needs" (CSHCN) as those children who have, or are at an increased risk for having, a chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional condition and who also require health and related services of a type or amount beyond that required by children generally.
